As a Stuurman at Wijgaart Shipping you have an executive role, which collaboration is central. You assist the Captain and you are responsible for various tasks on board. You’ll work independently by loading, unloading and mooring. You’re familiar with technology and you enjoy working on the maintenance of the ship. You are independent and identify problems and danger. You’ll stand for good quality in your work.

Responsibilities
- Motivate, support and management of colleagues on board
- High degree of sense of responsibility
- Identify bottlenecks and discuss them with the manager
- Flexible mindset
- Mooring and unmooring the ship and assisting with loading and unloading
- Responsible for the functioning and checking of the engines and maintaining the ship
- Proper maintenance of the ship, equipment and accommodation
Training and experience
- Sufficient sailing time with the Sailor note in the service booklet
- In possession of a Maritime radio certificate
- In possession of an ADN certificate (is an advantage)
- Good language skills in Dutch, German and English.
- Tanker experience / Dry cargo container experience
- Possession of a driving license is an advantage
